The MKHMA are about recognizing, celebrating and connecting Kwaito and House artists and those who are constantly working hard behind closed doors to craft great music that we only receive as a final product, individuals who have capacity for achievement and success and who contribute in an inspirational way to the future of South Africa. The qualities that upraise the MKHMA to the top go beyond just the sound of music, but it’s the efforts and work that is polished and speaks to an ordinary South African, brilliant individuals with tremendous promise and great talent who excel for reasons that go far beyond their skill as musicians, producers, promoters etcetera.

Message from the founder

Perfecta Khumalo is the CEO and Founder of the Mzansi Kwaito & House Music Awards. She currently works as an HRD Specialist for Sun International – Sun City. Born and raised in Diepkloof Soweto, Perfecta attended Xolani High School in Newcastle Osizweni where she passed her matric with distinction. After school she obtained her Higher Diploma in Adult Education from UNISA. She also obtained her Honours Degree in Adult Education at Wits University. Perfecta didn’t stop there; she also studied with Maccauvlei Institution and obtained her National Diploma in OD ETDP. Perfecta also has a musical background as a Music director in her church “Ebukhoneni Bakhe Ministries in Mogwase. As a CEO and Founder of Mzansi Kwaito & House Music Awards her vision is to honour, recognise and appreciate kwaito & house artists. Her mission is to teach the youth & our country (South Africa) that Kwaito & house still exist.

Thulani Malinga

Message from the Managing Director

Thulani holds an Electric mechanical Engineering Bachelor in Management Leadership and Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) His passion with mixing music and working on engineering and electronic project added him to the MKHMA team. Development Host nationwide talent searches and the top 12 will be part of the E.P. and also perform at the MKHMA annual ceremony. Through this we aim to expose and develop talent, afford emerging and undiscovered talent with and opportunity and a platform growth and socio-economic emancipation. We will host workshop sessions facilitated by industry experts, leaders and nominees to motivate, groom young talented music aspirants on how they can build themselves as lasting brands, we want them to understand the industry and how they can create their own legacies.

Hlelo Dlamini

“Hlelo Dlamini born in Eswatini is the Founder for the Buhle Foundation, an organization that helps give exposure to unseen tourism sites and hardly celebrated African tourism places. His clients include: Mzansi Kwaito House Music Awards Pele Pele Dance group Mshoza Khanyi Mbau Times of Eswatini Tina Dlangwana South African Music Awards Kalawa Nokwazi Dlamini Before devoting his work full time at MKHMA, he served as an admin at Fresh Money Family Records, Bold Hearts Record Company and Kalawa Records. In addition to being an Events manager, Coordinator, Personal Assistant and an Artists Manager. Hlelo is also a retired professional Dancer who toured African countries in showcase. Hlelo is decicated and has so much courage to take on any role given with so much determination for great achievement .”

Mondli “ Sgoloza ” Mlauza

Public Relations Officer

“Born and raised in Orlando East, Sgoloza , as he is affectionately known, spent his younger years in the history rich South, Western Township. His time in Soweto gave him an eye witness account of hardships that an African Child experie nces in South Africa. It was not until his adult stage, did Sgoloza decided to act on what he and many other youth go through. Mondli began his education career as a humble young man at Roseneath Primary School in Parktown. Although he grew up in a disadvantaged environment, the family business at home was able to afford him the luxury of attending school with kids of a different skin colour and home language. Having successfully completed his primary school education, Mondli subsequently went to Barnato Park High School and met people who influenced and played a major part in Mondli’s development..”
